I rescued my cat, Chuni, when I was 12 years old, in 2007. The first night we brought her home, when she was a tiny thing, she snuggled on my chest and slept through the night. Since then, she snuggled with me every night for the next fifteen years. She would follow me everywhere, sit on my lap at meals and kiss my cheek when I cried. She behaved like a grumpy old lady with everyone else at home, except me. She was the best friend I have ever had. Seven months ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. I gave her the best life I could, fed her her favorite foods, and let her do as she wished, even if her wish was cuddling in bed with me until noon. I had to let her go last month, and it was the hardest thing I have done. She is my angel in feline heaven now, and I am sure she is looking down on me. I can still feel her kissing my cheek whenever I cry.
