IDENTITY CRISES!
Three years ago, a cute stray cat showed up on my parents’ back porch. All the other neighborhood strays showed up every morning and every evening for the old man who would fill up their bellies. This new cat they named Abby, and when she tried to meow, she had no voice. Abby wasn’t like the other stray cats with their short, wiry hair who fled from humans. No, Abby was fluffy and hairy and wanted to be your best friend.
I never saw myself having more than one cat, but something about Abby broke my heart and I took her home with me. She was fed, watered, given a much-needed bath, and then carted off to the local vet. Turns out that underneath all of that fur, she was actually a he! It’s a boy!
After some time, when no one stepped up to claim him, the little boy cat was in need of a new name. With his huge biscuit-making paws, and cuddly nature, Teddy Bear; or Teddy for short, seemed like the perfect fit. Much to his cat brother’s disdain Teddy became a part of the family, and as it turns out that “voice-less” meow is a very exuberant squeak!
